From above you can see that there are four main sections to the year.
Each section will contain:
- about three tests
- one major assignment
- homework assignment
- directed investigation
- computing assignment
Therefore, the majority of the year is spent doing these things, along
with lesson times that are spent going through the text book and learning new
concepts as well as solving problems.
Brushing up your spreadsheet and general computer skills is just about
the only thing that you could do in preparation for this subject.
- don't avoid computers - in business
maths, your computer is you best
friend, so if you don't know how to use one, learn
now...after all,
almost 50% of your work will be done on it
- strive to grip concepts in stead of memorizing rules and
definitions
- when you are completing an assignment, spend some time on
presentation
- make use of lesson time - Business Maths is a lesson where it is
very easy to waste time but it is also a subject where time is extra valuable
because you have got a teacher to consult of you have any problems
- make assignments and tests neat, at least set them our correctly so
that the marker will not have a hard time marking them
- if you have time, no matter what the task is, if it involves
calculations, double check them, and most importantly check that they are
answering the question
- of you have open book tests then don't spend so much time
learning and spend more time writing out your own quick reference
sheets for formulas and definitions
